How to Install Albert on Google Chat

Albert can be installed on Google Chat. Most of the setup happens on the Google Workspace admin console.

  1. First on the Riot platform, go to “Settings” > “Notifications”.
  2. Then, select “Slack, Teams, Google Chat”.
  3. Click on “Connect” for Google Chat.
  4. A slide-over will appear with instructions. Follow the steps described.
  • If the sync is not activated on Google, configure the sync for Google.

5. Click on “Open Google workspace marketplace”.

1. Install Albert Google chat application

The first step of the installation flow is to install Albert on Google chat for the desired audience. In order for your employees to be marked as using Google Chat on the Riot platform, they must first see the conversation with Albert appear on Google Chat.

  1. Verify that you’re logged in with the correct account and on the correct workspace.
  2. Then, click on the “Admin install” button.
  3. It will open a wizard to guide you during the application installation. Click on “Continue”.
  4. You will be asked about the target audience of the installation. Either select everyone or specific groups / organizational units.
  • If you select groups / organizational units, a view will appear to select them.

5. Click on “Finish”.

2. Allow employees to use Albert on Google chat

  1. If you have restricted the access of unconfigured apps, you must allow Albert in the allowlist access settings. To do so:
  • Go to https://admin.google.com/.
  • Go to “Apps” > “Google Workspace Marketplace apps” > “Apps list”.
  • Click on “ALLOWLIST APP”.
  • Select “Albert”.
  • Select “Allow users to install this app” then click on “Continue”.
  • Select which groups / organizational units should be allowed.

2. The installation configuration is now complete. Note that Albert installation may take some time and will be done gradually on the Google Workspace by Google.

3. Before proceeding with the next step, wait for Albert to appear on Google Chat for the admin who will confirm the installation.

3. Confirm the installation

  1. Go back to the Riot platform.
  2. Then go to “Settings” > “Notifications”.
  3. Then, select “Slack, Teams, Google Chat”.
  4. Click on “Connect” for Google Chat.
  5. Click on “Confirm install”.
  6. Done!
