Riot sends phishing test emails. Without the correct configuration, some of these emails would not pass the Proofpoint web filter, which would compromise your campaign statistics.
The following guide explains how to avoid this and ensure your test campaigns run smoothly.
Did you know? Unlike Riot, hackers would have no problem bypassing your spam filter by exploiting legitimate email servers, which Riot cannot afford to do.
Proofpoint Essentials
- Navigate to Security Settings > Email > Sender Lists.
- Under the Safe Sender list, enter our IP addresses: 159.135.234.25
- Click Save.
If you have issues with attachment-related emails, see Proofpoint's article on Blocks by Default.
These instructions were gathered from Proofpoint's Safelisting Addresses article.
Proofpoint Enterprise
- Navigate to your Proofpoint Enterprise Admin console.
- Click Email Protection.
- Under the Spam Detection drop-down, select Organisational Safe List.
- Click Add.
- In the Proofpoint - Global Safe List window, enter the following information:
- Filter Type: select Sender IP Address.
- Operator: select Equals.
- Value: enter our IP addresses: 159.135.234.25
6. Click Save Changes.
To avoid potential issues with Proofpoint’s Targeted Attack Protection, we suggest that you add Riot’s IP addresses to Proofpoint’s URL Defense:
- Navigate to your Proofpoint Essentials Admin console.
- Click Email Protection.
- Under the Targeted Attack Protection drop-down, select URL Defense.
- Click URL Rewrite Policies.
- Under the Exceptions section, enter our IP addresses: 159.135.234.25
- Click Save Changes.
